The Warehouseman is primarily responsible for shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to Personnel.

  • Follows inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Assists with local purchase negotiations.
  • Assists in maintaining the condition, security, and administration of warehouses and yards.
  • Performs inventories; submits inventory reports.
  • Assists in the coordination of the movement of material.
  • Assists with customs clearing of items being returned from International locations for repair and/or inspection.
  • Assists in resolving discrepancies and identification of parts and equipment at our warehouses and forwarders.
  • Loads and unloads all materials.
  • Handles phone calls, mail, typing, and copying needs.
  • Maintains office equipment and vehicles.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of inventory/warehousing practices and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing, warehousing, distributing, and tracking costs of non-capital items.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Good PC skills: Excel, Word, etc. Ability to learn Oracle systems.
  • Able to operate/learn forklift, aerial work platform, and other material handling equipment.
  • Able to plan and organize multiple processes.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to drive company-provided vehicles.

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Experience

  • Three months or more related experience and/or training.
