Brief Description:
The Machinist will be working on a manual lathe that will be cutting a variety of mud motor parts.
All machinists need to make sure that after cutting each part all measurements are accurate and that all parts are usable. QA/QC all parts before taken out of the lathe.
Detailed Description:
- Repair all equipment brought to the machine shop
- Assist in QA/QC procedures during production
- Assess worn parts to determine whether they need to be repaired or replaced
- Document inspections, test results, and repair work done
- Ensure the shop space is clean and organized
- Ensure that all equipment is clean and in good working order
- Safely operate a forklift to move equipment around the yard
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Used various measuring equipment
- Ability to operate an overhead crane
- Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third party
- Stay alert and focused including occasional extended work periods
- Must be willing and able to be on call after hours and work on weekends
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in running a manual lathe
- Must live within a 1-hour driving distance of the shop
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
