JOB SUMMARY:

Support the Operations department by assuring process and product requirements are established, effectively communicated, and continually achieved. Provide training support for operations personnel to ensure measurement accuracy and repeatability of in-line measurement processes. Perform Work-In-Process (WIP) audits to ensure process compliance and identify gaps. Perform Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to qualify measurement systems and personnel. Perform incoming, first article, in-process, final, and containment inspections. Collect, analyze, and report process performance data to prioritize process capability improvement initiatives and goals. Provide administrative support for the management and maintenance of all controlled Inspection, Measuring, and Test Equipment. Provide administrative support for the collection, warehousing, and distribution of material and process certifications. Support management in the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs daily random WIP audits of Receiving, Fabrication, Assembly, Inventory, and Shipping processes to identify and document Opportunities For Improvement (OFIs) and ensure compliance with QMS, WO, and SO requirements.
  • Directly supports the collection and warehousing of process performance and measurement data for QMS compliance, Process Capability, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) programs.
  • Performs analysis of process performance and measurement data using established data analysis tools and provides recommendations for process and/or measurement systems improvements.
  • Prepares and publishes reports on production quality levels, quality discrepancies, and trends.
  • Trains and mentors personnel responsible for performing product acceptance and test measurements on the proper use, recording, interpretation, and use of process and product performance data.
  • Supports Engineering and Quality MSA studies commissioned for the establishment and improvement of product acceptance and test measurement methods deployed.
  • Performs GR&R studies to qualify and sustain the capability of measurement and test methods.
  • Performs GR&R studies to establish and sustain the certification of personnel responsible for performing product acceptance and test measurements.
  • Performs incoming, first article, in-process, final, and containment inspections as needed.
  • Performs inspection on materials, parts, and assemblies working from drawings, sketches, and specifications where general but no detailed inspection data are provided with the guidance of the Quality Manager.
  • Performs PMI for incoming/returning materials.
  • Directly supports the collection and warehousing of Material Test reports (MTRs)
  • Directly supports the creation and distribution of Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), Certificates of Origin (COOs), United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) Certificates Of Origin, and UCode/MTR Explanation Letters.
  • Directly supports the acquisition, warehousing, control, and servicing of all Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment used for acceptance and test measurement.
  • Maintains calibration schedule, service and calibration records.
  • Provides direct support and guidance for the control, documentation, segregation and disposition of non-conforming products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • High School diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Quality or a scientific discipline preferred.
  • ASQ CQT Certification preferred.
  • Certified ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor preferred.
  • A combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

Work Experience

  • 2 years minimum of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of hand-held and automated measurement tools.
  • Experience working within an ISO9001:2105 manufacturing environment. Certified ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor preferred.
  • Experience overseeing maintenance and calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment inventory.
  • Experienced in the use and interpretation of statistical Process Control.

Skill

  • Computer proficiency in PC-based applications including Microsoft Office suite. Ability to adapt to new software programs.
  • Intermediate to advanced, data compilation, analysis, and presentation in MS Excel preferred.
  • Strong analytical and mathematics skills, including the use of Statistical Process Control.
  • Strong knowledge of hand-held/automated measurement equipment applications and uses.
  • Strong knowledge of RCA and 8D methodologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Willingness to work in noisy environments.
  • Must be able to be effective in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
  • Continuous standing and/or walking.
  • Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights.
  • Good eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Good visual acuity – cannot be colorblind.
  • Ability to work in cold, hot, and/or dusty environments, with noisy conditions.
  • Must be able to become forklift certified.
