Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Flight Test Engineer to join our team in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. This is a critical, onsite role supporting a fast-moving certification program for proprietary aviation technology. The ideal candidate will bring strong civil flight test experience, a deep understanding of aviation regulatory standards, and the technical ability to manage all phases of flight testing—from planning to compliance. This role includes quarterly travel to Lubbock, TX for 10-day testing periods and requires immediate availability.
Main Duties & Responsibilties:

Plan and execute flight test programs in accordance with aviation certification requirements.

Collaborate with aerospace and systems engineering teams to develop testing strategies.

Create and manage detailed flight plans and test schedules.

Operate and interpret flight instrumentation systems to gather and analyze aircraft performance data.

Conduct runway distance calculations to ensure safe and effective test execution.

Analyze test data to validate aerodynamic and structural performance.

Ensure full compliance with FAA and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Generate formal documentation for flight test results, compliance reports, and recommendations.

Travel to Lubbock, TX, on a quarterly basis for 10-day testing periods.
Job Requirements:

Civil flight test experience in aircraft certification or performance validation.

Knowledge of FAA frameworks and aviation regulatory processes.

Proficiency in using flight instrumentation systems for data collection and diagnostics.

Experience with systems engineering collaboration and interdisciplinary test coordination.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw conclusions from complex flight data.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Willingness and ability to travel to Lubbock, TX, for flight testing.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.

Proven success developing and managing flight test plans.

Experience with runway distance calculations and performance metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in airline manufacturing, aerospace development, or certification-focused flight testing.

Professional certifications in flight testing or regulatory compliance.

Background with companies involved in civil aviation, eVTOL, or government/defense certification programs.

Prior work in cross-functional roles with FAA, Cessna, Piper, Cirrus, or aerospace testing firms.
