Description:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to support growing production operations in Corpus Christi, TX. This contract-to-hire, onsite role is critical for maintaining consistent machining output and supporting a team that operates 24/7 with frequent overtime. The ideal candidate is experienced in operating a wide range of manual machinery and interpreting technical blueprints. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a strong machining background and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Main Duties & Responsibilties:

  • Operate various manual machines, including lathes, presses, saws, mills, and key seaters.

  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to produce precise components.

  • Set up and operate equipment for both standard and custom machining tasks.

  • Work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as production needs require.

  • Perform basic machine maintenance and monitor performance to ensure safety and efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow safety protocols at all times.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support team members across shifts.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong general machining knowledge, including tool selection and machine setup.

  • Proficient in blueprint reading and dimensional interpretation.

  • Experience operating boring mills and vertical turret lathes is strongly preferred.

  • Comfortable working across multiple machine types in a fast-paced production setting.

  • Reliable and consistent attendance with a readiness to work flexible shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in machining roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain a variety of machines.

  • Competency in interpreting technical blueprints and engineering drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of machining experience.

  • Hands-on experience with boring mill and VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) operations.

  • Familiarity with presses, key seaters, and other specialty shop equipment.

  • Willingness to work extended hours and contribute to a high-output team environment.
