Description:
We are seeking a technically proficient Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Technical Sales Engineer – Installed Base Services. This onsite, direct hire role is ideal for a customer-facing engineer who thrives at the intersection of complex electrical systems and strategic sales. The right candidate will use their deep knowledge of power distribution systems, switchgear, and electrical system retrofits to drive service revenue growth and become a trusted technical partner for commercial and industrial clients.
Main Duties & Responsibilties:

Develop and execute technical sales strategies for aftermarket services including engineering upgrades, maintenance contracts, and life extension solutions.

Conduct site assessments to evaluate client electrical systems and recommend technical service solutions.

Deliver technical presentations and proposals that clearly articulate engineering concepts and project value.

Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers seeking upgrades, retrofits, or service support.

Collaborate with internal engineering, project management, and field teams to design and deliver custom solutions.

Build and maintain relationships with facility managers, engineers, and maintenance leaders.

Stay informed on the latest industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, NETA) and apply that knowledge to client engagements.

Travel as needed to support clients throughout the assigned territory.
Job Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of technical sales experience in the electrical power distribution industry.

Deep understanding of switchgear and switchboard technologies (e.g., GE, Square D, Westinghouse, Federal Pacific, Allis Chalmers).

Skilled in using technical documentation to inform sales solutions.

Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong customer relationship management and problem-solving abilities.

Willingness to travel within the assigned region to support sales opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).

Proven ability to sell and support technical service solutions to end users.

Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in protection and control schemes, load flow, short circuit, or coordination studies.

Familiarity with legacy and modern electrical systems.

Background in consulting firms, service divisions, or power system solution providers.
