The Maintenance Engineer is primarily responsible for using independent judgment and discretion to support the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of the Company’s Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS) across the Company’s office, districts, engineering, and construction operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the implementation of EAM on all rigs; coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Review current EAM maintenance content for applications, including existing asset maintenance standard jobs, rig move maintenance standard jobs, and rig move (cold and warm) maintenance procedures.
  • Support district maintenance operations, who in turn are responsible for all maintenance and operations at the rig level.
  • Aid in the establishment of approved asset rebuild/overhaul suppliers in the operation area.
  • Schedule and participate in all related OEM equipment audits; manage the review and oversight of the electrical and mechanical audit reports.
  • Assist in the development of minimum competency skill levels for all technical personnel positions on rigs, including the establishment of training/skill requirements for maintenance technicians; coordinates training for rig maintenance personnel.
  • Aid internal departments in the development of root cause analysis reporting for equipment failures, including establishing reporting methods on all rigs; investigating incidents, accidents, and injuries, and submitting reports.
  • Review critical spares in support of rigs, including the number of capital spares required to support; offsite storage location of capital spares; onsite storage of location of capital spares.
  • Develop, inform, promote, and reinforce safety and operational procedures and recommends changes in procedures to meet HSE and operational goals and objectives. Demonstrates the H&P company values: Actively C.A.R.E., Service Attitude, Innovative Spirit, Teamwork, and Do the Right Thing.
  • Establish and maintain mutual understanding, communications, and cooperation between operations, management, engineering, manufacturers, and customers for issues relating to the operation, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Prepare reports for managerial review concerning operational maintenance problems and equipment maintenance requirements. Coordinates and schedules major retrofits, structural inspections, maintenance audits, and similar activities across the fleet.
  • Monitor changes to API recommended practices and standards, manufacturer maintenance procedures, customer requirements, H&P HSE Standards and Guidelines, regulatory requirements, and other applicable regulations as related to the rig electrical, mechanical, and/or well control system.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and/or well control maintenance
  • Advanced knowledge of drilling rig equipment and maintenance practices
  • Advanced knowledge of EAM systems
  • Ability to perform complex troubleshooting
  • Ability to lead and facilitate meetings
  • Ability to plan and organize multiple processes in a project manager role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must have proficient PC skills, Microsoft Office applications required with emphasis on Excel.
  • Excellent professional, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Must be flexible and team-oriented
  • Ability to travel as needed (valid driver’s license)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 3+ years of related electrical or mechanical experience
  • Oil and Gas industry experience preferred
