JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the tooling coordinator position will provide organizational/administrative/engineering support to the tool room; supervise tooling component operations, order spare components, and control perishable tooling inventory.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine the type and quantity of tools required availability of stock, and order priority.
- Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue tools and parts and to inform supervisors of tool status.
- Directs warehouse staff to expedite the transfer of tools from the stock area and/or production areas.
- Examines tools received, verifies parts numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked tools.
- Compares work ticket specifications to tools used at workstations to verify appropriate assignments.
Experience
- 2-4 years of previous tool coordinating experience in an industrial manufacturing process environment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively; capable of listening intently; visual acuity to process reports. Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
